Birds of Inchcolm

A boat trip to an island dominated by birds in the Firth of Forth

We got the ferry from South Queensferry to the small island of Inchcolm in the Firth of Forth. It's seabird nesting season, so there were a lot of birds about. Mostly gulls. We carried sticks to keep them away from our heads as we trespassed their territory. They watched us with suspicion.

I also photographed a blackbird, foraging in the grass as blackbirds do. It was a fun day out. For anyone interested in visiting the island, the Maid of the Forth runs boat trips from South Queensferry.
