A new exhibition is featuring my work at the University of Westminster's Harrow campus
The group exhibition Reformulations at the University of Westminster, which was planned and postponed earlier this year, will now take place in September. I'm very happy that prints from my series A Creative Act will be included alongside works by Martin Dixon, Julia Neal, Lucy Whiteley and Kevin Wood. The exhibition is curated by Lorenzo Frattini and focuses on photographers who have used digital manipulation to activate contemporary responses to the past.
EXHIBITION'S PRESS RELEASE:
Reformulations is a group exhibition on digital photographic manipulation, specifically focusing on how this artistic practice allows photographers to present a contemporary perspective on the past.
The exhibition will take place from the 26th until the 30th of September in the London Gallery West space inside the University of Westminster's Harrow Campus, with a Private View event taking place on the 27th September from 6pm to 8pm.
The exhibition will showcase the works of 5 emerging photographers from the university: Martin Dixon, Josh Murfitt, Julia Neal, Lucy Whiteley and Kevin Wood.
The 5 photographic series do not represent a simple, passive revival of past events. Instead, by using images of the past as a figurative vocabulary and digital manipulation as grammar, they actively formulate contemporary thoughts, perspectives and reflections on the past.
