We visited Sha Raku En - "a place of pleasure and delight" - also known as The Japanese Garden at Cowden. Founded by Ella Christie in the early years of the 20th century, this beautiful garden sits on the edge of the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire, an hour or so northwest of Edinburgh by car. It was a peaceful place to wander, admiring plants and watching the reflections in the water.
