Wandering on a local beach on Boxing Day. I love a bracing cold beach walk at this time of year, and luckily for me, my close family do too.
It was also an opportunity to try out a new camera. I traded in my much loved and used Canon M6 Mark II (along with a few other things I dug out of my photo cupboard) for a Canon R10. The main reason I wanted to trade up was to gain the tracking autofocus features of the R10. I photograph birds a lot (and our cat), and sometimes portraits, so animal/eye tracking AF is a very exciting upgrade. I wanted a camera small enough to travel with, but well-featured enough to use for my landscape, nature and wildlife photography. I like the built-in EVF (compared to the M6 II's optional add-on hot shoe EVF) and the fully articulated screen (compared to the M6 II's tilting screen). And, unlike the discontinued EOS M line, the R10 is compatible with the newer RF series lenses. It's been fun getting to know this new camera! And my success rate with cat photos is much higher now, so prepare yourselves...
