Pentire Headland

Birds, water, light and colour in Newquay, Cornwall

A brief and bright walk up Pentire Headland, Newquay, one afternoon during our recent trip there. A man walking his dog saw me pointing at a bird in the gorse bushes and stopped to chat about how many birds can be seen on the headland. We did indeed see many. Skylarks, stonechats, pipits, and possibly others. The sea glistened and shimmered below us.
