We recently took a friend on a mini bus tour from Edinburgh to Northumberland. It's not the kind of thing I'd normally do, but it seemed like an easy way of visiting a couple of places down that way without spending much of the day driving. Our first stop was the island of Lindisfarne. It's somewhere I've been a couple of times before, including on a freelance job during the COVID years, but I've not really had chance to spend time there doing photography for myself.
It's a beautiful place, and I would definitely have liked to spend more time there - perhaps a couple of days to really indulge in the atmosphere of the place and have more time to unwind. Alas, our bus tour was on a tight schedule, so we only had an hour to march around and try to see as much as we could. We will have to go back on our own sometime.
I took a couple of film cameras and my Canon R10, but in the end, I just used the R10 to take some quick snapshots as we walked around. Luckily, we had some lovely weather during that hour, and we also managed to beat most of the tourist crowds since our bus driver arrived ahead of schedule. By the time we were leaving, a lot more people had started to arrive.
I'd love to revisit this island with a bit more time and maybe take more pictures with my Holga, which I think would really suit the location. Still, I'm happy with these snaps for now.
