We visited Rosslyn Chapel for a second time with a visitor from England. I remembered walking down to Roslin Castle last time, and this time we went a little further down the path into the woods beneath the castle. There was a distinct scent of wild garlic in the air. I heard a chiff chaff, for the first time this year. The weather began to turn and the light in the woods dimmed. The paths were muddy and slippery, still damp from recent rainfall. I'd have liked to stay longer and spend more time exploring these woods, but this was not the day for it. This is somewhere I'll hopefully return to one day with more time and more light.
